It has been several days and I apologize! Kaleb is doing good in the NICU. So far he has done well with the additional calories/protein and is tolerating it well. His oxygen level has increased some and the doctors have also increased his flow. The doctors have informed us that he is still young and his lungs are still developing and that they will keep close watch and rotate between giving fluid meds to ensure that there isn't a lot of fluid on his lungs and look into giving him additional blood. Of course they have reassured us that this is usual for preemies but overall they are very impressed with him and want him to keep growing. Speaking of growing...Kaleb is 2 lbs and 11.75 ozs....way to go...few more ozs until 3 lbs. My sisters, mother, and I are doing a prayer chain and we are speaking in advance that Kaleb will hit the 3 lb mark by next week. So please join us and send those prayers up!The other good news is that Marcus was able to hold him for the first time Tuesday and it was great to see Kaleb so alert and we all loved each moment. Praise God! Our prayers have been answered! I'm so glad that he is gaining weight and doing so well! I will definitely be praying that he hits the 3 lb mark soon! And that's so awesome that your husband was finally able to hold him! The pics are just precious! It's amazing that babies can survive being born so early and to think that preemies should still be in the womb. He's a miracle each and every day and you are so blessed!
WAY TO GO KALEB!!! He will get to those 3 lbs in Jesus name!!! Love the pics!!
